Going to sleep now, g’night, ZZZzzzzz

February 8, 2011

This blog is going on semi-permanent hiatus. We have had nothing to post on activities in McMinnville for quite some time. What we discovered was that three critical elements have been missing: willing, able, enough.

* willing – wanting to learn everything necessary to do what needs to be done to abolish McMinnville’s voter-approved (50 years ago) requirement that the city-owned water department add fluoride to our water.
* able – having the time and experience to do those things, rather than waiting for someone else to do it.
* enough – there were several local people who were willing and/or able, but there were not enough to get the job done.

Until such time as this community assembles the necessary ingredients for success, this blog is going to sleep.

We recommend that you visit the other no-fluoride blogs and read the news items on the RSS news feed located in the right hand column of this blog.

Thank you for visiting. Good night all.

Charles, thank you for your interest in this blog. It has always been intended as a truthful, local, organizing tool.
As you can see on the right-hand column, there are many links to current news articles as well as excellent blogs, books and videos about fluoride from all over the U.S. and Canada. Our blog, while we love it, has nothing to add to these discussions at this time.
At such time as a local update becomes necessary, we will post it here and send an email to all those who are on the email list, so interested people in McMinnville will be properly informed.
Again, thank you for your caring comment.

I think your decision to place your blog in semi-permanent hiatus is a mistake. It provides much valuable information, not only on local issues regarding fluoridation, but also at the national level. There will be more local updates and allowing the blog to “go to sleep” along your opinion that there wasn’t enough “critical elements” sends a clear negative message to the many local supporters against water fluoridation. I for one respectfully request that this decision be reconsider.
